Description
Large pottery jug decorated on either side of the body
with concentric bands, a single handle and a pronounced lip.
Phoenician, apparently found in Lebanon
c.1200 B C
Height: 22 cms
Purchased in 1990 from a London Dealer
The decoration is reminiscent of Cypriot pottery of a
similar period and the decoration would likely be
described by Desmond Morris as a breast.
