Born in Naples on January 12, 1751, Ferdinand IV was the son of Charles de Bourbon and Marie-Amélie Walburge de Saxe. He is King of Sicily (peninsular) under the name of Ferdinand IV from 1759 to 1799 then, after a short interlude, from 1799 to 1806, and again from 1815 to 1816, King of Sicily (island) under the name of Ferdinand III , from 1759 to 1816 and finally, King of the Two Sicilies from 1816 to 1825. He died in Naples on January 4, 1825.
