An Attic Black Figure Lekythos showing a scene from The Twelve Labours of Herakles.
A slender oil vessel with disc foot, the shoulder with cross-linked lotus buds and ivy tendrils
in the field; the body painted with a scene showing Athena seated before Heracles, the
Peloponnesian Hero wrestling the Cretan Bull and the moment Herakles brings the bull
to his knees. The seated bearded figure with a sceptre is probably King Eurystheus who
set Heracles to his tasks.
